Kybella: Chin/Neck Tightening

The Kybella (deoxycholic acid) injection is primarily used for improving the appearance of moderate to severe submental fullness (double chin).

Pre-Treatment

  • Consultation: Assess the patient's suitability for Kybella using a series of assessments to determine the severity of submental fullness and any medical considerations.

  • Preparation: Ensure the patient avoids blood-thinning medications and has no active infections at the injection sites.

Procedure

  • Numbing: A topical anesthetic is applied to minimize discomfort.

  • Gridding: A landmark grid will be drawn to allow for precise injection points

  • Injection: 0.2 mL injections are spaced 1 cm apart until all sites in the planned treatment area have been injected. Up to 50 injections or 10 mL may be injected in a single treatment

  • Post-Injection Care: Ice ball is given to reduce swelling and bruising.

Post-Treatment

  • Aftercare: Avoid strenuous activities for 24 hours and to follow any specific aftercare instructions provided by the practitioner.

  • Swelling: Post treatment swelling is normal and should reduce in 2 weeks

  • Follow-Up: Schedule follow-up appointments to monitor progress and determine if additional treatments are needed
