IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) photofacial treatments are popular for addressing various skin concerns like age spots, sun damage, rosacea, and more. Not everyone is a good candidate for IPL treatments. It is recommended to consult with an aesthetic provider prior to booking an IPL appointment.
Pre-Treatment Instructions:

Avoid Sun Exposure: Apply sunscreen daily and avoid tanning (including self-tanner) for 4 to 6 weeks before the treatment.

Discontinue Certain Medications: Avoid photosensitizing medications like doxycycline and minocycline three days before the treatment.

Clean Face: Come to the appointment with a clean face, removing all makeup if the treatment area is the face.

Avoid Retinol Products: Do not use retinol or exfoliants on the treatment area for one week before the procedure.
During Treatment:

No numbing necessary: You will experience warmth and occasional mild pinch. At any time during treatment please mention to the provider if you experience discomfort.

Eye protection: Your eyes will be covered for your protection, please mention to the provider if you have claustrophobia

Skin protection: A cooling gel will be applied to treatment areas to protect the skin and help the device glide

Light therapy: Focused intense light beams are dispersed through the skin allowing for light beams to target pigmentation

Number of Treatments: Typically, 4-6 sessions depending on treatment goals

Frequency: Every 4-6 weeks
Post-Treatment Instructions:

Sunburn Sensation: You may experience a mild sunburn-like sensation that usually subsides within a few hours.

Redness and Swelling: Skin redness and slight swelling are normal and may last a few days.
