KTP Laser (Aura)

KTP Laser treatment is effective in decreasing pigmented sun spots, as well as, clearing up red vessels or red spots on the face, chest, neck, hands, and body with no downtime.

How does the KTP Laser (Aura) work?

The device uses heated energy to clear red vessels and brown pigmented lesions. The vascular or red areas will disappear, whereas the brown spots or pigmented lesions will get darker in color before they flake off in about two weeks. The KTP Laser is also used in the treatment of sebaceous hyperplasias or donut shaped oil glands, which typically are present on the face.

What areas can be treated with the KTP Laser (Aura)?

  • Face
  • Neck
  • Chest
  • Hands
  • Body

How much downtime can be expected with a KTP Laser (Aura) treatment?

There is virtually no downtime with the KTP Laser, however within the next couple of weeks the darker pigmented areas or brown spots will darken in color and flake off.

Does the KTP Laser (Aura) hurt?

The sensation of the KTP Laser has been described as the feeling of a rubber band snapping on the skin and is typically well tolerated.

What is the difference between the Photofacial and the KTP Laser (Aura)?

The Photofacial is typically used when there are larger areas that need treatment such as the whole face, or neck. The KTP Laser is better for scattered areas of treatment, such as brown or red spots of multiple areas of the body. Come in for a consultation to see which treatment is more appropriate and cost effective for you.
