Radiesse®What is Radiesse and how does it work?Radiesse is an FDA approved injectable that is effective in replacing loss of fat in the face. Radiesse® dermal filler is made of calcium-based microspheres (Calcium Hydroxylapatite) made from a biocompatible substance that is identical to what is naturally found in the body. Radiesse dermal filler is the ideal choice for total facial contouring. What areas can be treated with Radiesse?Radiesse is used to replace volume loss that occurs in the cheeks, lower face along the jaw line and chin, as well as, the naso-labial folds (the creases that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth aka smile lines or parentheses.) Radiesse can also be used in the top of the hands, to restore lost volume. Radiesse can last 12 to 18 months with full correction and can take 5 to 10 years off your appearance. Radiesse cannot be used in the lips. What is the injection process of Radiesse and does it hurt?Topical numbing cream is applied to your skin prior to injections, as well as, a local anesthetic that is mixed in with the Radiesse for a more comfortable treatment. How much downtime can be expected with Radiesse injections? There is virtually no downtime with Radiesse, however with any injection there is always a risk of some bruising and swelling immediately after the treatment. How long does it take to see results? You will see the results right away and these results may last up to a year or more for many patients. The long-lasting effects of RADIESSE dermal filler can reduce the need for re-treatment, which saves you time and money compared with other fillers. And unlike other fillers, RADIESSE dermal filler continues to work over time. With its patented microsphere technology, it starts a process called collagenesis, stimulating your body to produce new collagen and encouraging collagen to grow around the injection area.
