“I believe that everyone, regardless of age or circumstance, deserves to feel beautiful in their own skin. There are multiple studies coming out that bolster what we already have experienced to be true: perception of one’s appearance is inherently tied to that person’s feeling of wellbeing and happiness. It is so important to me to help my clients feel amazing.”
Whitney is a San Diego native who obtained her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from the University of San Diego, which is ranked by US News and World Report as one of the top 30 graduate nursing programs. While a graduate student, Whitney was invited by UCSD Thornton Hospital to share with management and nurse leaders the findings and recommendations for implementation of her research. Her academic achievements earned her the invitation to join Sigma Theta Tau, an academic honors society for nurses. With a background as a professional ballerina, choreographer and musician, she brings an artistic touch to her work. It is Whitney’s belief that there is no “painting by numbers” approach to skin care and that each client deserves a personalized plan of care. She sees aesthetic medicine as a wonderful opportunity to blend both aspects of her extensive training in medicine and the arts.
My love for the beauty industry began at a very young age. I always had a passion for fashion, makeup, and art. I decided to follow my passion after taking a job as a Makeup Artist for Sephora. I was especially drawn towards skincare because I was a firm believer that makeup never wears as well as it does on beautiful, healthy skin. It was then that I began my education in Esthetics at Bellus Academy in Poway. I graduated and accepted a job at the Fairmont in Santa Monica where I specialized in aggressive, anti-aging and resurfacing procedures. 2 years later I moved to Northern California where I opened my own Esthetic room in Monterey Bay's most prestigious salon as their lead Esthetician and Kevyn Aucoin Makeup Artist. I continued my education by becoming a Certified Lash Extension Aritst and certified in threading hair removal. I longed for the city life again and the sunshine so I came back to southern California to plant my roots and offer my areas of expertise to the beautiful people of San Diego.
Rebecka, originally from Kansas, came to San Diego as a traveling RN specializing in cardiac care. In 2008, Rebecka decided to continue her education in nursing. She completed her master's degree in adult health at San Diego State University and obtained her Nurse Practitioner license in 2011. Additionally, Rebecka is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. After practicing extensively in the inpatient acute care environment Rebecka desired a change, and aesthetic medicine piqued her interest. Already a highly qualified and educated nurse, she completed even more rigorous training, and certification, to be on the cutting edge of the skin care industry. Rebecka prides herself on being a conscientious patient advocate and believes in a comprehensive approach to skin care. ComplexionsRx is proud to welcome Rebecka to our team.
